The project consists of two components:
> construction of a new section of the parallel taxiway
> reconstruction of the existing runway on a section of approx. 700 meters including technical infrastructure.

The construction of a new section of the parallel taxiway will improve the airport’s operational capacity and increase the throughput of the existing runway, making it possible to increase the number of flight operations.

The reconstruction of the existing runway on a section of approx. 700 meters will significantly improve its load-bearing capacity and durability through the application of cement concrete surfaces instead of the existing asphalt surfaces. Such a solution in the aircraft's touchdown area is much more damage-resistance and will ensure the durability of the surface, allowing flight operations for a longer period of time. The implementation of the project will reduce the frequency of refurbishment work on the runway, thus reducing operating costs and enabling flight operations to take place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in all weather conditions.

Project co-financed from the European Union funds under the Connecting Europe Facility 2021-2027 (CEF Military Mobility).

The project concerns the reconstruction of the runway over a section of approx. 1,800 m, 45 m wide with 2 x 17.5 m shoulders including technical infrastructure.

The reconstruction of the runway will significantly improve its load-bearing capacity and durability through the application of new asphalt concrete surfaces. Such a solution in the middle part of the runway will maximise the use of the runway. Furthermore, the project will reduce the frequency of refurbishment work on the runway, thus reducing operating costs and enabling the flight operations to take place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in all weather conditions. The project will improve the technical parameters and increase the safety of flight operations on the existing runway (which has a total length of 3,200 m).

Project co-financed from the European Union funds under the Connecting Europe Facility 2021-2027 (CEF Military Mobility).
